This past weekend, the sixth annual BedStuy Walls Mural Festival once again transformed Lexington Avenue near Stuyvesant Avenue and surrounding streets into a spirited, vibrant open-air gallery that engaged the entire community. Founded and curated by Miki Mu and Frankie Velez, this year’s festival brought together dozens of women artists for its first all-female lineup. The mural featured above was painted by the Miami-based Peruvian-American artist Diana Contreras aka DidiRok. Several more images of murals recently captured follow in this first of our series documenting BedStuy Walls.
