Back to Welling Court with: Daze, Dirty Bandits, Crash, Joe Iurato, Toofly, JMR, Queen Andrea, SINNED and Ria

Since we had last visited Welling Court back in late spring, a number of new murals have surfaced in this hugely popular Astoria, Queens-based mural project. The image pictured above was painted by the legendary NYC-based artist Chris “Daze” Ellis, who had first made his mark on NYC subway trains in the mid-70’s. Other recent artworks follow:

The 8th Annual Welling Court Mural Project Readies to Launch with See One, Queen Andrea, SP One, Bluze, Sinned, Onel with Roberto Castillo, ASVP & Dozens More

Curated by Ad Hoc Art, the Welling Court Mural Project is once again bringing a diverse range of intriguing murals to Welling Court and its neighboring blocks in Astoria, Queens. Many artists have already begun painting in anticipation of tomorrow’s Block Party. A few have already finished. Pictured above is a completed mural by See One. “Pier Pressure” in Chelsea: Artists Transform Ground Level of the Marina @ Pier 57 into Mesmerizing Medley of Styles

Armed with spray paint, paintbrushes, markers, pencils and assorted implements, a diverse group of artists have transformed the ground level of the Marina at Pier 57 into a mesmerizing medley of styles, shapes, colors and concepts. Here’s a sampling of what we recently captured on the “magic carpet” under 36 suspended shipping containers:
